Sticky

Today, I read that using vegetable oil would give your legs a smooth feel, especially if you haven't shaved for weeks. So I tried it out. My legs felt slimy, the oil clogged up the blades, and I was reduced to shaving my legs with a naked razor head and soapy water. Endlessly smooth indeed. FML

You idiot, you use a tiny amount of oil AFTER you shave!!!

I've never heard of shaving your legs with oil.... apparently it's a bad idea.

I use oil to shave with too. You don't use a lot, just enough to cover your skin and wash as much as you can off afterward. If you go out in the sun, you'd literally be baking your skin. You need to use water pressure to get the hair out of the blade. And, make sure you have some traction on the bottom of your tub because that'll make it slick as shit.

methinks you used too much oil. Oil is actually a pretty common thing to shave with, you can actually buy shaving oil, but I think it's normally used by guys for their face rather than girls on their legs.

it's safflower oil, because of the high vitamin e content(which is good for skin). you shave, apply a very thin level, wait a few minutes and towel off.

it is vegetable oil but you don't smother it on your legs, use it to shave with, like a shaving cream and when you're done, use soap to wash most of it off.

you're an idiot. why did you use the oil BEFORE? if you had any sense at all you would have thought ahead to what might happen.

you're supposed to shave THEN put on the vegetable oil THEN wash it off -_-

I don't shave my legs in the winter unless I'm going to see my dude, which is about once every 1-2 weeks. He's the only person that's going to be seeing/touching my legs, and seeing how I don't see him every day, I don't see the point of shaving every day unless it's during the warmer months when I wear shorts. It's only unhygienic if you don't shower. Derp.

So you prefer not to shave, but you still do for your man? Why are you with him if your natural body offends him so much? If you're going to shave, do it for yourself, not for other people.

^^ This. He's not totally offended by it; it's not like he won't be intimate with me unless I have shaved legs. However, he is like most men and prefers for me to have shaved legs. It's not that big of a deal, especially in the winter, like I said, when I'm only doing it maybe once every 1 or 2 weeks. I can handle it, and sometimes I even do it for myself when I don't go see him, but like 69/73, most of the time I just don't have the time or the hot water to do it, lol.

YDI because whoever gave you that information told you the wrong instructions and you should have double checked. When you put oil on, starting on the day you shave is best. While your legs are still wet you smooth the oil over your skin, then pat dry, DO NOT RUB your skin dry. This also works on arms or other areas of the body with dry skin and you can also use olive oil or mineral oil. I personally use baby oil (otherwise known as mineral oil) with lavender scent.
