Why did she believe that the best way to stop a potential car thief was to ram her car into the stolen car? Comprehensive car insurance would cover theft. And regardless of if she had that or not, I'm not sure any insurance company will cover a ramming of one of your cars into another one of your cars. But look on the bright side OP, at least you didn't own either of the wrecked vehicles.
