Just because the OP felt like being nice doesn't automatically mean that girl has to accept his gesture. Yes, she could have, maybe, been nicer about it, but public transportation is a scary place sometimes. Many need to be on their guard at all times in case freaks do show up. A few seconds isn't enough time to know if you're a good guy or a guy wanting to cause her harm. Give her a break and help someone else willing to accept it.(:
