Today, I was told by my manager to make sure the supervisor on shift does his job. Last month I was told I couldn't be a supervisor. Apparently I can supervise someone who earns more than I do though. FML

Today, my boss told me that people from work have been complaining about me. Apparently, I'm not doing part of their jobs for them, and the other manager sometimes does. FML

Today, my job as a supervisor has become increasingly ridiculous because one employee doesn't want to do the tasks I give her. My supervisor tells me to keep working with her and giving her work. When she goes directly to him, he tells her she doesn't have to do them. FML

Today, I got yelled at by my supervisor for getting an hour of overtime yesterday. The reason I had an hour of overtime was because that same supervisor made me stay late. FML

Today, I was given my marching orders because I corrected my supervisor on something he was actually doing wrong. It seems I deserve this for "not learning to obey my immediate superiors." FML

Today, I went to my boss with concerns that my manager is dumping her responsibilities on me. He agreed and told me to just do whatever she wants. She gets paid twice as much as me to talk on her cellphone all day. FML

Today, I learned that my boss is training one the the trainees I trained to be supervisor. Everyone supports this, including me. So what's the issue? I was promised that position almost 2 years ago. Apparently, I train people well enough to promote, but I'm not good enough to be promoted myself. FML

Today, I was told that couldn’t become assistant manager of my job anymore. I already told my family I was going to be one, and they'd all said how proud of me they were. FML

Today, I had an hour long meeting with my manager where she informed me the reason I had not been promoted is because she felt that people would not like to work for me, because I would, "make them do their job." FML

Please update your CV. It is time for a new job. With your ability to supervise others above and below you, you should be very qualified for positions in other companies. Don't settle, it's time to move on to a company with a managerial team that takes you seriously. Good luck OP.

It might be that they know supervisor is crap at their job and they want to see if they can trust OP enough to report back honestly. If so, supervisor may be transferred elsewhere and OP moved into their slot. Fingers crossed, OP!

My guess is, when OP asked about being a supervisor, they weren't sure at the time. Maybe they saw an improvement in your work over the past month and want to confirm you're ready to be promoted now. They probably wouldn't do something like this if they didn't trust you, so it could be a big opportunity. Good luck OP!

That's been my whole career so I know how you feel. They won't promote me to supervisor but ask me to train the person they did promote who has been working there 2 weeks. Then ask me to do it again when they fire that person because they didn't know what they were doing.
