Today, my brother came out to our family as being gay. My mother starting crying because she "wanted grandchildren." I told her that I was planning on having children. She started crying harder. FML

#31: Your post is self-contradictory. If her aim in life wasn't to have kids so they'll have grandchildren, she wouldn't have been so upset about one of them probably not having any (at least not biologically. Still not ruling out adoption). You said yourself that's why she's upset. It seems pretty obvious what her goals are.
