i don't know who had it worse, you or brother.... sorry you and him had to go through that
Ha ha, I love all these people are calling the mother, "a selfish bitch". I'm willing to bet almost none of you have ever gone through a change so drastic that you never planned for it/ever expected it. There's nothing wrong with one's child being gay, but if one had never even thought about the idea, it would be a terribly stark change in one's life. And to all you people saying analytical bullshit like, "well her remark implies..." or "clearly her emotions were related to..." need to respectfully STFU. Humans are emotional creatures by default. Sure, we absolutely LOVE to brag about how analytical and logical we are, but when it comes down to it, when we're in a corner, we rely on nothing but pure raw emotion. I'd like to see someone witness their best friend die or family member get a life-threatening sickness and still manage to think, "logically."
Happy tears?
Adopted kids don't have those obnoxious famil traits. Your brother's future "Gaybies" should be just fine for your mom.
maybe after you said that, she produced tears of joy? trying to look on the bright side here.
To the OP: I'm sorry your mother reacted this way. I think your brother had it worse... maybe if your mother wasn't so oblivious, it wouldn't come as a "shock" to her. To Brasil & BiggLJ - You guys are appalling. I'm sad that there's still so much ignorance in the world. Maybe if you weren't so blinded by religion... but just maybe. (Not that religion is a bad thing, it just seems to "control" some people...) "Mental defect"? "Sin"? Please... just sad.
To 17, some People are that way. If my nephew told me "Uncle, I'm gay" I wouldn't say "OH YAY! I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU!". I'd be upset. And practically raising the boy I'd have every right to be. But... I wouldn't try to snuff it out. Do I like it, no.. but that doesn't make me a homophobe. People don't HAVE to like it... get used to it. OP... Sucks to be you :P
F your life for being straight. You're really missing out.
