Sweet relief

By best_mom_ever - This FML is from back in 2012 but it's good stuff - United States - Mount Juliet

Today, my husband and I decided to tell our sixteen-year-old daughter that she's adopted. Her response was, "Thank God!" FML

Please, please, please stop with all the lectures and advice column-like comments! This is FML, it's about humour. Even though you mean good, it takes the fun out of the site! Thank you to the likes of DocBastard, Perdix, Noor, etc for your constant brilliant comments, you will forever be legends on this site!

Honesty is not always the best policy. I grew up wishing I was adopted (No Luck).

that should tell you something

She probably figured it out already, you procrastinating asshat!

I think half of you are ungrateful *****. Adopted kids are wanted and cherished. Clearly your biological parents weren't all that hot... how could you not appreciate the ones who went through so much to get you?

I was adopted at birth, and I have known ever since I can remember. I honestly find it cruel for adoptive parents to not tell their children, or to wait until they are practically adults to tell them. I love my family and I can't imagine it being any other way, and honestly I am so glad I was adopted into my family! For all those teens on here saying "I wish my parents told me I was adopted!" Umm, no you don't, because chances are you would be a lot worse off with your birth family then your adoptive family. I met my birth mother when I was 16 and by the end of those two weeks staying with her, I was REALLY ready to go home. I visit her every summer, but at the end of it I am like LET ME GO HOME NOW! Don't get me wrong, I love her, it's just that she had me when I was 16 and my sister when she was 18 and she has two little kids from her husband now. Her husband now is really abusive and is a drug a ddic, and they all fight and yell and throw things at each other, and they are VERY tight on money so we can't do anything but sit at home. So even though I am glad I know my birth family, I am so thankful I have my adoptive family to go home too.
