in all fairness I think you need to be thankful he loves you enough to want to be with you for the rest of his life. it's a big thing getting engaged. my fiancé bought me a £4.99 ring and I was over the moon. in fact I chose the cheapest one because I know he loves me and don't need flashy jewellery to prove it. i think you are being a little bit on the ungreatful side here.
oh, how will life ever go on? He can't buy you an expensive ring! Aww. My heart bleeds for you. Grow up, OP.
You must be a bitch. Do you really need a big ring or are you just as greedy a politician...
So, if he wants to buy your love, he needs to pay more? If you're not going to marry him over that, sounds like he's getting the better deal.
It's not about the ring. And if you find one you really want that cost a little more, maybe YOU should put your own money in TOO.
YDI for not living in the real world where people have bills and rings, among life's luxuries, are the last things on people's minds.
wow, what a gold digger.... that's pretty pathetic... my ring only cost 150.... that's because it is diamonique (factory made, they sell them on QVC. lots of women wear them when they want it to look like they can afford BIG diamonds). honestly, NO ONE can tell the difference and I am constantly told how lucky I am by strangers admiring it (it's 1 carat.). He also let me pick it out....because he wanted me to LOVE it. we discussed what we had available to spend and I found a gorgeous ring for 150$. So he got the ring and kept it for awhile. He later proposed on V-day and he made the day SOOO romantic. He also told me later in life when we have more money he will replace it but I love him far too much to care how much my ring costs.

It's about the love, not the ring.
$200 is way more than you should spend on a ring anyway. YDI for valuing the ring over the love!
