Today, my boyfriend said he wanted to marry me. Since he doesn't know my ring size, he asked for me to find a ring that I liked, and he would buy it and propose. The only problem is that he won't spend more than 200 dollars on it. Oh, the generosity. FML

It's about the love, not the ring.

$200 is way more than you should spend on a ring anyway. YDI for valuing the ring over the love!

Lol seriously OP? For my engagement ring we used a ring pop because it was a funny memory. And for my wedding ring I found an inexpensive silver band because I rather use the money for something we needed rather than just something to look at. The ring is a symbol it doesn't have to be expensive.

My boyfriend's family deals with precious and semi-precious stone, and for Christmas he gave me the sapphire that's going to be the stone on my ring when he asks me, I don't care how much my setting is, I'm just happy he wants to marry me. Even though he wants to wait 7 years.

Seriously I'll never get why a ring has to be sooooo expensive... you have a ring, be ******* grateful that someone is in love with you and wants to share their life with you. You really want to put a price tag on that?

ungrateful? He's about to pay for a ring and then a wedding, so if anything the total costs will come out higher than $200 anyway
