Show it anywayI doubt op is going to get too great of a celebration after saying that she "used" to love her mother.
#1 didn't say it was well-planned out positively. Just well-planned.
Don't let this ruin your baby shower, talk to your mom and sister bc it's going to be a celebration about you, they shouldn't make this about themselves despite slipped words.
You need to watch your words.
lol about "her" it's called a "baby" shower for a reason.
Just explain what you meant to your mom. If she doesn't understand, than that's just sad.
I'm sure the mother would love an explanation, hearing that her daughter used to love her probably made her sad.
Aaaand that's why there needs to be an explanation from OP so her mom can see she didn't mean in in past tense.
I'm sure that if you just explain her your mistake, she'll understand. She's your mother. If she doesn't, then well..
Also, if you aren't confident with your explanation, I'm sure that the reason people use past tense for these particular things is because they're referring to themselves as children. People who love their parents now may not have as much or at all as children and vice versa, for another situation. Good luck with your explanation and I hope all goes well!

Show it anywayOh good grief, your sister is a tattle tail. It was an honest mistake, and I'm sure you meant "used to" as in "when you were a child". Just explain it to your mom, and tell your sister to cool it.
That's exactly how I would have taken it. No doubt the sister just took the entire phrase out of context as well to make OP look bad.
If it was or wasn't a mistake, it's not right for your sister to just go and tell your mother that. Good luck, OP.
Time to get pregnant
Sounds like a classic case of pregnancy brain. I'm sure a simple explanation and an apology should smooth things over.
