Tense situation

By mother to be - 04/08/2014 13:20 - United States

Today, while talking to my sister, I explained to her that the reason I hope I end up having a girl is I want my daughter to love me the way I "used" to love my own mother. I didn't mean to say it in the past tense. My sister told my mom. She's planning my baby shower. FML

Just explain what you meant to your mom. If she doesn't understand, than that's just sad.

Oh good grief, your sister is a tattle tail. It was an honest mistake, and I'm sure you meant "used to" as in "when you were a child". Just explain it to your mom, and tell your sister to cool it.

Obviously it was a mistake on your part... You're sisters probably just searching for some drama & attention.

I'm sorry, but the errors in this sentence are bothering me. Your* sister's* My sister would have a field day correcting my grammar if I were to write my sentence the way you did.

Just talk to your mom. If she's really worth your time then she'll listen and understand. :)

I think that "used to" is alright, I mean we loved our moms with ignorance that they were really wrong some times and that we truly believed that they were heroes. Then you love them with appreciation, for all the work they did and how they helped you even when you screamed that you hated them. At least that what happened with me.

It will be okay OP. Your mom understands pregnancy hormones. Just explain what you meant.

Explain it to your mom, and worst case blame it on "baby brain". She ought to understand.

Why would you even use 'used' in that sentence? XD did you at least correct yourself and try to explain?
