Thanks, but no thanks

By rick - This FML is from back in 2013 but it's good stuff - United States - Roanoke

Today, I held the door for an elderly woman. As she walked through, she looked at me and told me I was a very handsome man and that I should meet her grandson. The woman was my grandmother, and yes, I'm straight. FML

That's actually incredibly sweet. She called you handsome and was scouting out a partner for you.

Well sometimes you just have to take things that old people say with a grain of salt. She is probably just old and senile.

I agree most with welshite's comment #2, it is very sweet :)

if that the worst thing in your life. I would consider myself extremely lucky.

I have a grandfather with Alzheimer's. Haha moments like these you shouldn't take to heart, and learn to cherish them and laugh them off. All the best OP :)

It seems more likely that she just meant you were a gentlemen and you should meet yourself, since you are the grandson who is also a gentlemen and would be a good fit. It's probably just an awkwardly worded compliment, not an fml.

Let's be honest: if you could, wouldn't you have sex with yourself?

Grandma knows best, you need to take her advice and arrange a meeting with yourself.

Looks like grandma's Alzheimer's is kicking in..

I'm sure you have a lot in common with her grandson.

Maybe it was her way of saying you could only ever score with yourself.
