Thanks for your help

Today, I saw my car being broken into on the street below my apartment. Too scared to stop them myself, I called the police. Before I could even tell them what was going on, they put me on hold. It was a good 5 minutes before I realized they'd hung up on me. FML

Try to get them to do something again, and if they don't simply turn to the local government's arch-nemesis: your local news station. They live off of stories like this.

Cops are here just to arrest people, not to protect. You can google that. I had someone who tried to break into my house, so I called. They said they would be there in an hour.

police dont stop crime they arrest people after the crime was commited. stop living in the 50s, police are not your friend.

Why the **** are people saying "why didn't you yell at them? Why didn't you confront them?". He could have been armed! Honestley, why risk your life for a car? Yes, they are expensive. But is it worth your life? I think he did the right thing.

And our crooked politicians want confiscate our firearms and rely on the police instead.... While I wouldn't confront a car thief and would have called police. There are situations where police cant help right away. And that is where you need a gun.
