My mom has a doggie door and the cat brings in mice, birds, and snakes into their bed at 4am on a frequent basis - sometimes not even dead. The worst was a live baby bunny, who the cat brought to them at 2am, let go, caught, and killed without leaving the bed. My mom tells folks that the noise the bunny made when it died still haunts her. O_O
I couldn't vote either way on this. Since a live snake from my cat was one of the best gifts I've ever gotten, I certainly don't think your life sucks. Snakes are SO CUTE!!! And it's always nice when a cat lets his prey live. But since you seem to be complaining about what many of us would view as a delightful encounter with nature, and a sign of your cat's devotion, you certainly didn't deserve it.
Considering I have 2 cats, live in AZ and have a massive phobia of snakes, I live in terror of things like this happening. Especially since my cats are indoor only and any snakes they would bring will 1) most likely be poisonous and 2) would have already been inside my house. *shudder* nightmare fuel
Maybe he wanted help killing it...
I'm calling bullshit, I have a load of snakes and have had a few cats. Cats are shit scared of snakes and they should be considering a snake could kill and would kill a cat in minutes.
From what I’ve read, this means that your cat realizes that you suck at hunting, but cares about you enough to try and make sure that you don’t starve.

He probably felt sorry for you since there haven’t been many “live snakes” in your bedroom for quite a while!
That actually is a sign of love, super adorable. My cat occasionally pukes on my shoes. Wanna trade?
