Seems like this belongs on Not Always Right rather than FML.
YDI for working at Petco
Wow. To all of the people who are saying "I don't get it", you are stupid. I think that most of these retards are confused because the word perforated was used.
I have to agree with you. You have to remember that the the majority of books, newspapers, and magazines are published to someone with a sixth grade education.
What I dont get is why the op cares if some stranger is an idiot. Is it a faith in humanity thing? Hate my job thing? These poor fishies thing? idk
Having to keep your cool around idiots can be an FML. Educated questions are one thing, but seeing as the person that came in could probably see the holes in the divider if they tried, it's painful. I worked at an amusement park for two years and idiots get quick really fast.
Maybe they just read "tank divider" and held it up cuz they weren't thinking and then op freaked out at them and told them they couldn't have their fishies! lol anyway why don't people just go fishing, catch some bluegill and throw em in a tank? why do we have to buy them from the pet store where it's up to 200$ or more for a tiny fish?
I don't think that the OP truly believed this ****** his life. I just assumed that he thought it was a funny story that highlighted the stupidity of others, so he decided to post it on FML as a way to share it with others.
I agree with you FFML. And I know for one that I would have clicked yes as well.
I never said it wasn't an fml and I'm glad the op posted the story. Don't jump to conclusions just because you don't like me, I was only speculating as to the ops reasoning. I haven't questioned any FMLs' worthiness in a while, but I do think they aren't as good as they used to be.
rbg: Is "perforated" really considered beyond a sixth grade reading level nowadays? D:
There is such a thing as looking up a word in the dictionary. With your atrocious spelling here, I sincerely hope you are not the top in your class.
Hahaha just somone who wants to get educated no biggie!
This FML should be on Not Always Right instead.
lol. it's just my opinion. I suppose I chose rather harsh words.
I don't believe your words were harsh enough hahaha
so now were submitting FML's about stupid customers... wow where do I start...
Exactly. My dad, who owned a restaurant in an, ahem, rural town, once had a customer tell him quite seriously that there were some "really bad lemons" on the buffet. When Dad asked him to point them out, they were actually whole kiwi fruit. O_o
Stupid people are amusing.

What's not to get? A perforated tank divider is a fish tank divider with holes in it, thus defeating the purpose of separating different kinds of water. They're used to separate fish that would usually fight each other. Since water molecules are obviously a lot smaller than fish, they would get through the holes. Personally, I wouldn't want to sell anyone an animal if they didn't know the name of it. I think there's actually something that says pet store employees can refuse selling an animal if the person wanting to make a purchase seems incompetent enough, because it would result in the death of the pet.
Shoulda smacked a bitch.
