The Hitchhiker

By hitchhiked - 04/01/2012 06:28 - United States

Today, I picked up a hitchhiker. He was well dressed, and seemed trustworthy. As soon as he got in, he pulled out a gun and stole my wallet and car. All of this occurred in front of a sign warning against picking up hitchhikers. FML

Whenever I drive by a hitchhiker, not helping them makes me feel guilty. But at the same time, you never know who they are or what they could do.

those signs are most often either near prisons or in areas with a history of this sort of thing

There was probably a prison nearby, which is why there was a sign not to pick up hitchhikers. If they escape yet don't want dumbasses like you picking them up.

You must of not seen The Hitcher, it's a good example of not trusting anybody, especially by their looks.

There are such signs?! Wow! The things you learn from FMLs these days!

You are lucky you didn't end up six feet under.

A few bad apples spoil the barrel. I've been in a position where I had to hitchhike.. no one helped me. I had no intentions to try and steal I just wanted a ride. I was hungry, scared.. but because humans are so freaking pathetic as to commit crimes against people who would help them there's nothing we can do. It's depressing.
