The longest monologue

Today, I was waiting in a doctor's office when I was approached by an elderly woman. She told me all about the ripping of her stitches in a very private place, in exhaustive detail. Of course, today was the day my doctor chose to be an hour late. FML

For these moments Steve invented iPods and earplugs!

What does this have to do with respecting an elder? More like respect someone's personal space..

So talk to her. Big deal. You can feel good about yourself that you actually did something nice for another human being by letting her tell you all the details of whatever ailment.

THAT'S NICE OH LOOK AT THE [WHIPPERSNAPPER]

Hey here's a crazy crazy thought. How about you could have politely told her that you're not interested in hearing about that because its a inappropriate topic that you're VERY uncomfortable with hearing about. And if she persisted, move to a different chair or something.

Oh god, I bet that was an interesting convo.
