There you are

Today, at an aunt's wake, my five year-old son walked up to the coffin, and, with the whole family around him, exclaimed, "Well that's good, I was wondering where she's been." FML

Kinda a win. Your son sounds like he'll be a funny stand up comedian. Kinda like Gilbert Gottfried. But you know, your son will not be annoying as ****.

Hell, when I was little and my grandmother died I kept saying "I smell dead people." at the wake. This isn't that bad.

Stupid ******* kid. You should have slapped him into tomorrow and then grounded him for a year. How DARE he say something like that! At twenty five he should know better. What? Oh, FIVE? Well forget everything I just said. He's five, for crying out loud.

So the age-old saying is true: "And she would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for that meddling kid."

I probably would have laughed. that's really sad, especially since you had to explain to him that she's not coming back, but I still would have laughed

YDI for not making sure he understood the situation first.

death can't be explained to a child that easily. A five year old can barely comprehend that someone will never be seen again let alone the concept of death

They are just innocent words. Definitely embarrassing, though hehe

Either way, it's hilarious!!! I actually did laugh out loud. And, can we quit with the grammer lessons for heaven's sake? I know that's WHY I COME HERE! Not.

That was precious. He was wondering where she was and now his mind is at rest knowing she is sleeping right there. The kid doesn't understand the concept of death, how can this be an FML?

Your comment was gay. His mind is at rest because he knows she is sleeping right there? Omg, that is the stupidest thing anyone has ever said.

The fml to me is that later the person will have to explain to their kid that even though you just seen her "sleeping" she really is gone.
