Timing is everything

By Anonymous - This FML is from back in 2012 but it's good stuff - United States - Metamora

Today, a cop turned his lights and siren on to pull me over. I pulled into a parking lot and got a ticket. It wasn't until the cop pulled away that I realized that I'd pulled into, and interrupted, an on-going funeral visitation. FML

Not your fault op. Who pays attention to where they park when a cop pulls them over? All you'd be doing is praying you don't get a ticket.

It's not your fault OP, when a cop tells you to stop, you stop.

I think most people panic when they see flashing lights behind them! Could be ET!

So just be grateful you're not in their situation I guess.

Well, guess that one wasn't your fault. I mean, when you see a cop on your tail, you pull over immediately (I hope), so you don't really pay much attention to WHERE you're pulling over (unless it's obvious you shouldn't be there). Hope neither the cop nor the people attending the funeral were too upset.

For everyone, there is a moment like this at least once in their lives where it is beyond their control. This happens to me every time I go to an amusement park (I didn't know the water coolers at Kings Dominion were for staff only and I could have never known I wasn't aloud to take a video while riding a rollercoaster in Hershey park!)

And who knew it was rude to brush your teeth while your girlfriend was removing a tampon?!

Just curious, is there usually funeral visitations in parking lots? Or is it just weird to me because I'm from a very very small town..

After a funeral, the family/ closer ones of the deceased will all drive to the grave site together for the burial and usually the path will be blocked off to traffic so the cars do not separate. I'm not 100% sure how it all goes down but I'm assuming that's what OP was interrupting.

It's called a procession or a funeral cortege. There are special laws protecting the formation of cars involved. It only happens after open casket ceremonies when the body needs to be transferred from the funeral home to the burial site. The hearse leads. Sorry for the extra comment I just wanted to be a little clearer. :)

Ah Thankyou :) and no apology needed! It's always nice to get a serious reply when you ask a question, instead of all the smart assed comments you usually get!

Not your fault if anything the officer should have had the common sense to ask you to move your car somewhere else. Stupid pig.

Hahahahahaha I feel bad for you op. but I don't think it's your fault.

To be honest haha my friend edited that picture like a lot haha we didn't even have guns.

I feel like they would notice. if its at a funeral home it would be inside. and of its a cemetery you're definitely going to notice, they're huge!

Next time don't do something to get pulled over. That's normally the solution.

The cost of a ticket is better than the cost of a loved one's life.
