Did you change something about yourself recently? I work in a building with a thousand other people and I'm always taken aback when someone I don't work with directly knows my name. Some greet me daily so I vaguely recognise them as a hello person but if any of them so much as changed his or her hair colour, I probably wouldn't recognise him/her.
