Today, a customer asked a question I couldn’t answer. I asked if she would wait while I consulted someone else, but she spat in my face and stormed off. My manager saw, wrote me up for refusing to help, and gave the woman a gift card for her troubles. FML

Where do you live? Because spitting on someone actually is a form of assault- the moment something comes from you and touches someone else, it counts as assault. Your manager just wrote you up for being assaulted.

I would do the same to your manager that he/she did to you. Write her up for allowing violence in the workplace and how he/she recommends her colleagues to provide customers with false information.

Spitting in your face is an assault. I would suggest that a report up the chain is required for your manager supporting assaults upon his staff.
