Today, a customer came in to the Pizza store where I work and complained that the food they had purchased had a strand of black hair in it. After some deliberation, my boss decided to fire me. He is the only staff member there with black hair. I shaved my hair 2 weeks ago. FML

#10.... Yes, lets inform the PIZZA STORE UNION of this travesty and get his job at the pizza store reinstated! This is what you pay those union dues for! To those saying sue, you're equally mentally challenged... I don't even want to elaborate... just think about how easily defended this is for the boss.

He means a fair work union. Here in Australia we have a governing body called the Fair Work Ombudsmen that covers everyone, regardless of whether they are in a "union". They'd provide workers compensation to OP or at least fight for it. OP, go to fair work

Also no. It's not that easy to get fired. Your employer would have to pay your unemployment benefits. I have worked in food service. A hair in the food is a relatively common occurance. No one gets fired for that. Also, when did the term "mentally challenged" work its way into the English language? People sound like 4-year-olds when they say that.

You should bring it up with someone. Talk to somebody about it. And #14: How could the boss, "easily defend" this? If the BOSS was the only one with black hair and the one fired had a shaved head, the judge will see right through it and he will get paid for wrongful termination. If it was the boss's hair then he could have easily apologized and given the customer a free pizza with no firings. That was just stupid of him.

Fire someone because of a hair? :-/ A normal boss would have just given the customer a new pizza. I rarely find a hair sometimes in food as well. I just throw away that area and eat the rest. Complaining about one hair is also a bit...
