Today, a drunk driver drove his car through my mailbox. He got pissed, started yelling, and threatened to sue me for "putting the mailbox in the middle of the road". If my front lawn is a road, I'm going to have some serious issues. FML

Well, ya know, if life is a highway, it's conceivable that your front lawn is indeed a road. Or maybe you just need a new realtor.

and it's coming from United States. People around the world are going to have a good laugh about this.

why is it everytime I see the words United States and the word sue I automatically think of judge Judy lol

When did you decide it was a good idea to pay attention to what a drunk says?

Our house, in the middle of our street Our house, in the middle of our ... Our house it has a crowd There's always something happening And it's usually quite loud

If he did sue you nothing would be brought against you...better than running straight through a house though...

Lol that happened to me. The idiot hit our mailbox, then plowed into the trees across the road.

YDI. Why would you put your mailbox on the road...

I think you should encourage him to sue you. Imagine for a second how smart he'd look in court. I also think you should've called the cops on him - I'm sure they'd also like to discuss the placement of your mailbox... Erm, or something else in this scenario.

No lawyer, not even the stupid ones, would take this case. So he'd have to represent himself. Then he'd probably sue his lawyer for incompetent representation

yeah, and then, when the lawyer he's using to represent him in THAT case hears his whole story, chances are that he's gonna get the same results, causing him to sue THAT lawyer for "incompetent representation" as well!

Now you can sue government for constructing 'the road' on your property.
