Today, a girl said to me, "Sorry, but I have a boyfriend". I hadn't said anything to her. FML

I hate when people assume that you want them! You should of told her "Sorry, was never interested..."

"Get over yourself, bitch" would have been the appropriate response.

Big headed much? You should of told her not to flatter herself.

It was a code. She says that, out of the blue and you were supposed to respond with a second phrase so she could hand off the microfiche. After that it would have been a day filled with mistaken identity, explosions and passionate love making... You missed out, man.

So her reaction was due to a rumour (your friend telling her, even if you weren't planning on it) that you were going to ask her out? I was wondering if you could tell us the tone in which she was rejecting you? Was it a sincere and polite tone, or was it clear she was being bitchy and as rude as possible?

Less of a rumor, and more of just him trying to set the two of us on the spot. She was polite with her response. The whole thing disappeared fairly quickly, I was just annoyed at my friend.

So it was a miscommunication between you, the girl, and your cupid-friends. Makes sense.

You should say: somehow I don't believe you

Tell her, "Sorry, but I don't date presumptuous bitches." Game. Set. Match.

After reading your comment, it sounds like a preemptive strike. Sorry, OP.

Ahh. Buddy of mine would always say it was her shoes he liked not her.

All these feminist females assuming that OP was doing something that prompted the girl to say that...GTFOH. Quit always assuming that the guy is in the wrong or did or said something to make a female mad! Sometimes the opposite is the case! Oh and btw, I'm a woman myself:)
