Hey this is my post! They've actually been working on the fire alarm system for a few months, but this is the first time I needed to use the elevators when they were out. I needed to pee really badly so I ran up the stairs (in business attire) only for them to start working as soon as I got to my floor!

Oh I wish I could use the lifts. Cause being stuck here is really the pits. Cause I'm a tub of lard, so it's just too hard, To use the flaming stairs and get fit.
Time to take the stairs.
Seriously unless you're old or have a broken leg suck it up. Its only 12 flights of stairs. I used to live in a huge high rise with only 3 elevators; instead of waiting for 10 minutes I would just run up and down all 25 flights of stairs. It takes the same amount of time and its really not that bad. I'm not in shape in anyway either.
Your life sucks. I install fire alarms for a living and love to here people complain because we are installing devices to save your life.
hope your not affraid of Heights
YDI for being lazy
That sucks just don't think of how hot the elevator is it how hungry you might be or that your phone is on low battery.
Take the stairs. Suck it up. The exercise is good for your heart. It will also help keep your a$$ from drooping to the back of your knees.
Exercise? 12 floors is a bit more than just exercise...
Well good thing you're not on the 13th floor :)

This sounds like a problem that will most likely exist for years to come with no end in sight. Best course of action: Move to Siberia and adopt a herd of elk.
Call 911 every time the alarms go off... *OH MY GOD, MY BUILDING'S ON FIRE AND WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE... AGAIN* Watch how fast that problem gets fixed!
