Hey this is my post! They've actually been working on the fire alarm system for a few months, but this is the first time I needed to use the elevators when they were out. I needed to pee really badly so I ran up the stairs (in business attire) only for them to start working as soon as I got to my floor!

I feel for you - I used to work on 15th floor and we had some trouble with alarm going of several times a day for a short period. And our boss always insisted we have to go down every time it goes off, because you never know it is not for real (a bit of safety freek, but thats a good thing, actually). It made us pretty fitt :D But I hope they will fix yours soon. meanwhile - enjoy some fitness time.
I think that would suck even more when you're trying to sleep or if you happened to be in the elevator when it went off and got stuck in there!
12th Floor? Well it seems like you have to take the "stairway to heaven"from now on.
I'm sure it has its ups and downs.
Except that you are NOT supposed to use the elevator in case of fire! I mean the elevator could get stuck and then you would be s.o.l.
Well at least you'll really tone up your legs.
you will be an expert in fire drill ...
look on the bright side, OP. All that extra stair walking will give you killer legs.
Isn't that why the say don't take the elevators during a fire
At least you won't have to do a steps class when you're finished

This sounds like a problem that will most likely exist for years to come with no end in sight. Best course of action: Move to Siberia and adopt a herd of elk.
Call 911 every time the alarms go off... *OH MY GOD, MY BUILDING'S ON FIRE AND WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE... AGAIN* Watch how fast that problem gets fixed!
