Today, a new fire alarm system is being installed in my building. Not only does the alarm go off incessantly, but the elevators stop running when it happens. I live on the 12th floor. FML

Hey this is my post! They've actually been working on the fire alarm system for a few months, but this is the first time I needed to use the elevators when they were out. I needed to pee really badly so I ran up the stairs (in business attire) only for them to start working as soon as I got to my floor!

This sounds like a problem that will most likely exist for years to come with no end in sight. Best course of action: Move to Siberia and adopt a herd of elk.

Call 911 every time the alarms go off... *OH MY GOD, MY BUILDING'S ON FIRE AND WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE... AGAIN* Watch how fast that problem gets fixed!

My fire alarm went off this morning at 7:15, due to an electrical fault. It went off three weeks ago at 5 a.m. I live on the 11th floor, and have to lug a terrified cat down 10 flights of stairs.

When the elevators stop running they go down to the first floor and the doors open, so no one is trapped!
