I know how you feel with the insensitivity, OP. The day after my first miscarriage my husband's step mother told me it was God's way of punishing me for being a heathen. I was so distressed I didn't get out of bed for days. Needless to say, we don't talk to that side of his family anymore.

Something similar happened to me. I miscarried at 18 weeks and my now ex best friend told me that God was punishing me for having an abortion after my uncle raped me and got me pregnant when I was 12.
