You've got to be pretty damn sheltered/oblivious/stupid to not know that Berkeley is one of the biggest reefer schools in the country. Not even my socially unaware mom is naive enough to be surprised about weed at UCB

Okay people, weed is harmful to the lungs, that's practically it, I'm in highschool, and I'm a "pothead" who is extremely active in sports and excels highly in tuition. I've had straight a's all my life with a couple b's here and there, but that's because of when I had a deathly ill infection and had to miss school for weeks... And i still brought my grades back up, And no, weed was not the cause of it, it was an infection going around town, at the time I was actually on a tolerance break :p but anyway, I've been smoking for 3 years now, and I'm doing perfectly fine. I admit, the majority of smokers are different than me, they get too caught up in the herb life and lose sight of what should be important to them. And chronic smokers CAN have anger issues, it all depends on the psychological will power of the person. Weed has an effect that obviously chills you out, but also positively increases your mood unless dramatic, unexpected, or stressful events occur. When influenced, a person will never instinctively become angry, but if pushed, just like any other person, they can become violent.... But this is extremely rare, weed often induces a sense of paranoia when in "shaky" situations. But when a chronic smoker (someone who smokes constantly and I mean like a pretty good bit) isn't influenced, their mood can be angry, short tempered, annoyed, extremely bored, un-intrigued and so forth, and I know this from a first hand account (my friend, who's heading in a horrible direction) and for the fella who said that thousands of people are dying in Mexico so we can have our drugs, that can be partly true, but a large amount of weed is secretely homegrown, or nursed by legal growers for dispensaries. People who are linked to drug trafficking will more than likely be trafficking "hard" drugs, amphetamines, cocaine, ecstasy, etc. And these people will not be easy to find, they'll obviously swarm towards "bad" areas, towards people who don't give a shit about others, pot smokers are usually down to earth or laid back, but lots of people smoke the herb, so of course you'll get the mix of the bad fellas in there. Op, if you can't stop your daughter from smoking, make her swear that she'll only stick to weed, tell her that's all you'll allow, if she doesn't then make her pay her own damn tuition! The other drugs that she can run into will mess her up, and I know others may disagree with me, but it's true. I really hope you read this

ok, this is stupid. first of all classes haven't started yet, so what exactly is she supposed to be learning? second just because she knows what weed smells like doesn't mean she's smoking it. i never knew what weed smelled like until this year (when i went on college visits i think, lol) but just because i know what it smells like now doesn't mean i'm doing it.
