Today, after finally seeing a psychologist about the death of my dad and spending the longest hour of my life confessing every thought I've experienced in the 6 years since his passing, my psychologist asked me if I was walking home or if my dad would be picking me up. FML

Wow, some people really do amaze me!!

That's why when in doubt, always choose a psychiatrist before a psychologist; The former can prescribe dope for you to take so you are less aware that they aren't really listening to you nor do they care about your problems or issues. The meds really soften the blow. And I will refrain from long winded comments on Mental Health Workers (CSW's and QMHP's) other than to say that all of the MHW's I know, their lives are way more screwed up and complicated than I perceive my own to be lol.

Every psychiatrist I've been to has required you see a psychologist first before giving any meds.

How on earth did this idiot get a psych degree??, as someone who wants to go into the counselling psychology profession this makes me sick. You should file a complaint with the practice manager and Find a new therapist. All the very best to you, and may your dad rest in peace.

That's one attentive psychologist. Time for a change

They obviously weren't listening refuse to pay on grounds of not doing their job and go find another shrink.

Lost my dad too, know the feels. Nothing really worthy of counselling imo, but if anyone speaks ill I punch them with great force.

I spent 2 sessions bawling about a ex of mine and at the end of the two sessions she asked "Are you still dating__________________" It was awkward.

Tell him that your dad will be picking him up from Hades.

Whoa what a bitch!! Evidentially she wasn't paying attention the entire session. Hope you changed to another Dr and are getting yourself help for your feelings

How could someone possibly deserve such a comment like the one she got from her psychologist.
