Aww. I'm sorry to hear that OP. Some people just lack a normal amount of empathy

Show it anywayWe're you talking about how much of a bitch she is before the topic moved to your life changing injury? I'm sure that's how you made the convo all about you right OP?
How is it that, as a stranger, I'm more interested in your problem than she is. :|
I bet your "friend" is the type who makes everything about her, and she's projecting that on to you.
I'm sorry. I lost most of my range in my left arm from shattering it (elbow and all)
She doesn't sound like much of a friend to me. A true friend is always willing to listen and has your back no matter what. I'm really sorry about your arm and wish you all the best.
Has no one considered that OP and the best friend were in the middle of a conversation where the best friend was discussing her issues when OP decided to change the subject? At least that how I read it.
If that's how you read it, you should consider re-reading it.

Drop the 'best' part. Actually, drop the 'friend' part.
Well, I mean, you are kinda venting to her about your personal issue, so basically you are talking to her about yourself. She should be more of an understanding friend. And respectful.
