Today, after five months of working overtime and doing my own repairs around the house, such as patching my own roof to save money, I walk into my home office. I find my $2500, week old, top of the line laptop won't turn on because it's drenched in water. Apparently there's a leak in the roof. FML

If you're so poor, why aren't you getting the bottom-of-the-line computer? When I was broke, I had a POS no-name PC clone. Now, that I am working, I have the computer I want. Don't buy things you can't afford! And, BTW, YDI for fraudulently billing your clients for overtime when you were doing your own home repairs.

YDI, now your going to have to pay even more to fix the damage you did to the roof then you would of if you hired someone to repair it properly in the first place

so you cheap out on your basically only shelter's roof, which keeps you dry and cozy, but you sell out two-and-a-half grand for a ****** laptop? YDI

YDI for leaving a Laptop out, honestly, leaving it out all the time is just ASKING for it to get broken, next time, shell out $20 for a laptop bag.

The only epic failure worse than the OP belongs to a guy called Tiger Woods. Next time don't be so cheap with your roof, especially when you can fork out so much money on a laptop.

Most warranties don't cover water damage. ASUS does tho.

So do Dell and IBM if you have the right laptop. At $2500 and only a week old, you probably would.

The laptop was probably bought on credit before the roof repairs were a concept. ..or already paid for. Either way, hoard your nuts people, WINTER'S COMING.

shouldn't you get some kind of plan that covers damages like that? I mean, I know their very expensive but it would save you the troubles. But I am not going to say ydi, but that you learned your lesson. Good luck, and I bet you could get some money off of that if you opened it up and sold the removable parts!

Lesson: If you're a shitty repairman, don't do repairs.
