Agreed. Metho (methylated spirits) or ethanol will get most any kind of permanent marker off. It dissolves the ink back into a liquid state so you can just wipe it off.

There's always painting over it, if nothing else works. Why bring your lease into it? If the fridge is owned by the landlord, you'll still have to take care of the wang, sooner or later.

Just draw over it with a real dry erase marker, then erase it off as normal.

Like everyone has said... rubbing alcohol will take it off. I have a spray bottle of rubbing alcohol that is clearly labeled in permanent marker... anytime the alcohol drips onto the bottle the ink runs and I have to dry it off and label it again. Not a FML.

So will baby wipes. They'll get permanent marker out of wall paint, even, without damaging it.

There's also the cleaner known as "Goof Off" it's hard to find, but I've yet to find a substance it can't remove (including paint, skin, and unwanted pets)

and hairspray...my friend and i were being stupid and drew faces on our knees and then realized it was pernament marker...but my other friend said hairspray and soap gets it out and it worked

and if it doesn't come off.... it'll come out of your deposit when you move out. YAY!!!

This doesn't always work. Only if the solvent in the dry erase marker can dissolve the permanent marker residue. Which it doesn't always do. Listen to the people above this who said use ethanol or something like that. If you want the best solvent, ask the company that made the marker.

I vote for this one.

But make it a tiny dick if you do draw one on his forehead. And put a note with it saying, "Girls, this is the actual size of my dick."

Spray paint would work. Not too difficult once you got the hang of it. However as almost everybody has pointed out already: you can just erase it, no need to go to the trouble of spray painting the fridge.

There is something specifically called appliance paint. Guess what it's used for... Though rubbing alcohol or acetone will usually do the trick.

Acetone will probably do the trick, because the doors of refrigerators, at least the outside part, are usually made of some colored plastic, so it won't change color at all

Even if the door was plastic, acetone would still react with it-- Acetone will dull the appearance of most shiny plastic finishes. OP: Rubbing alcohol is the way to go. If that doesn't work, most appliance stores can order replacement parts. Getting a new door is likely cheaper than losing your security deposit.
