Today, after listening to a group of my friends ranting on about how much they love babies and can't wait to have them, I got to witness their looks of horror and disgust as I expressed my desire to not have children. I also happened to be the only girl there. FML

There's nothing wrong with not wanting to have kids. A lot of people have children who should never have been parents.

You're not alone, didn't want kids when I was growing up, was constantly met with "oh but you'll change your mind" even from medical professionals, having ovaries does not immediately make you want to procreate. Got steralised best decision ever.

Some people don't want kids, your friends need to get over themselves and understand that someone's gender or age does not automatically mean they do or do not want kids.

It's easy to want children if you don't have to carry them around for 9 months and experience the worst pain a person could go through. I'm with you sister.

To be fair it shouldn't be easy to want them just because it won't hurt you or cause any other discomfort from pregnancy. You should at least feel some weight of responsibility toward the decision.

#68: I have 4 kids. 3 of my own and I adopted my friends son after she died. I don't give a shit if someone has kids, or stays child free since it is none of my business.

What the hell is up with society and the expectations that EVERYONE has to start a family? It's not society that has to carry the baby for nine months. It's not them that have to deal with the child 24/7, till the eventually move out. So, society can cram it. It's like what someone already said in the comments, if people who shouldn't have kids didn't and the people that aren't ready for them didn't maybe we wouldn't have so many problems in the world stemming from idiots! FYL, OP and F people that tell you what to do with YOUR life and YOUR body.
