That's the only real pet peeve I have about being broke. I hate that I am always the girl with the shitty car. I started a relationship this summer with the most wonderful man I ever met. He did the most romantic and loving thing that any man has ever done for me. After driving in my car once he gave me the keys to his car and took mine. He told me he can't handle worrying about my safety all the time so he drives my piece of crap station wagon and I drive his nice car. I have never felt so secure before.

That is always the risk when buying a used car, but at least you still have your bike.
Owning a car is never just about buying a car, there are many other costs associated with owning one. Most important thing is to make sure you have enough spare change for repairs and make sure you buy from a brand that makes reliable vehicle. It sucks now, but the best thing to do on a tight budget is to start learning how to DIY stuff on your car and get real friendly with junkyards.
