Today, after my landlord commented on how rarely I drink milk, and I joked that I'm "probably going to die young" because of it, I immediately remembered that her 35-year-old husband died last year of a heart attack. FML

How does your landlord know you rarely drink milk. Is she living with you?

Honestly I find the fact that your landlord knows how much milk you (don't) drink a little more disturbing than your slightly misplaced joke... FYL OP!

OP's landlady obviously dons a black cat burglar suit and follows her around all day. Or noting her tenant's/tenants' behaviors and habits to correct them is her way of coping with her husbands early death. She couldn't save him from his heart attack and doesn't want the same to happen to OP. That said, not exactly your fault/ you just had a brain fart.

Well it was a hidden "**** you" message to you landlord because she has nothing to do with your life. You can drink whatever shit you like buddy.

Uh, does your comment have a hidden message also?

Don't beat yourself up over it, you didn't do it on purpose! :)

What does heart attack have to do with not drinking milk?

how do you die young from not drinking milk?? milk really isn't really beneficial to humans.

Her young husband just died, maybe she was hinting you towards some different milk drinking....

People that are lactose intolerant usually find out pretty fast, but that doesn't mean it's so terrible for the rest of us. Most of the problems the health experts have with milk is the high protein and high fat. Most people just want to blame recent overnutrition leading to obesity and heart problems on something they don't like instead of an excess consumption of meat and fried food.
