Today, after putting a bag of dirty laundry in the laundry room to wait for an open washer, I came back to find a "free stuff" sign on all of my expensive jeans, new towels, and favorite sweatshirts. The bag was over half empty. FML

Don't leave your stuff in the laundry room, that's like rule number one. It's a hard lesson, but I bet you won't make that mistake again.

When I had to use the public laundry machines at my apartments I would make sure to get there before my stuff finished as people will remove things from running machines. You never leave your stuff unattended.

That really sucks and who ever left the note was an ass hole, but everyone knows you're never supposed to leave your stuff unattended.

Thats pretty messed up. Unless it was just a joke and the persone who made the sign took half your clothes to make it seem real. But I doubt that's what happened. That's why you shouldn't automatically trust people.

That's a pretty low blow. You'll come to find that in apartments (or dorms, whatever your case) people aren't as nice as they seem. Maybe post a sign on the laundry room door saying what happened? I hope you get your stuff back though!

YDI, you never leave your clothing unattended in a laundry room if they are not specifically in a running washer or dryer. This is even more true if you have expensive clothes like you claim to have had. Sucks someone did this to you but you did set yourself up.

That really sucks, but you should never leave your belongings unattended, because some people are dicks.

P1"Hey nice jeans! I had a pair just like those" P2 "Thanks! Someone was just giving them away."

Go knocking on every door in your complex and explain to your neighbors what happened. Hopefully they are honest and return your clothes to you. Also find out who the asshole was who put the sign on your laundry bag and tell him/her to mind their own ******* business next time.
