Today, after spending about 5 years to go back to school, get my life together and get a real job, I now make about $100 less a month. I used to work as a dishwasher. FML

You don't just go back to school, and start a new job at the top. When you start a new career, you have to work your way up. You should be glad you got your education and you have a job at all.

That is why I am scared to go back to school. Not worth it with all the school bills.

you can get lucky with those worthless degrees if you network or by joining the right fraternity or sorority IN school. you can sometimes leverage them to get a law or medical school graduate degree. but almost every waitstaff person has one of those degrees.

I hope you do realize you can always be a dishwasher again. I mran, I don't want to sound disrespectfull, but the more education you have, the more job options you have. It is well known fact that some jobs simply have to be well paid, becausr that would be the only way to get people to do them. Not that the dishwashing is obe of them, but just do as I did - first I was doing variety of low-paid-no-education-needed job and once I got chance I got a low-paid-nice-job, where I was able to progress based ony education and currently I am makibg more tgab three times my beginning salary.

That sucks :(. I work in a hotel and because we're so quiet this month, I would have made more money through claiming benifits :(

Well, the difference stands in being able to make your way up in your job.

Did you become a teacher? Or musician?

Gotta work your way up or you didn't separate yourself enough to stand out enough.
