Today, after thirteen years of engagement, my fiancé and I split. As is, with the day, we changed our Facebook relationships to make it official. I logged back on tonight to find his mother, the woman I've spent the last year looking after and having a good time, "liking" the break up. FML

You've been engaged for thirteen years?? Why the hell did you never get married, that's the only thing i was wondering!

YDI for waiting so effing long. And YDI for considering "Facebook-official" to be the kind that really matters. But YLIF for her apparently having no gratitude for your looking after her. I can at least dignify that part with an "Ouch!"

13 years? Lady, it was never going to happen anyway.

You DON'T deserve it. Guys, really, there was a reason they waited so long with an engagement. If they'd gotten married 12 years ago, then they'd most likely STILL be breaking up now...except then they'd have to go through all the divorce papers and all that legal junk.. and she'd get half his stuff, money and all. You don't know their situation. Maybe they were out of work, trying to find enough money to pay for a wedding. Or he was in the military or something. You never know. And the facebook bit... well, yeah, if it says you're in a relationship on there, you're gonna change it to single when that relationship ends. I'm pretty sure that's what he meant.

13 years of engagement? what, did you get engaged at the age of 15 and when you finally realized what it meant, you were feeling too stupid to back down? xD

After 13 years of engagement? There's no way you were surprised...

you deserve it for being engaged for thirteen years. jeeze, you're worse than pam & roy! X)

Why has Facebook become the center of the universe? Seriously.

Thirteen years of engagement? YDI for waiting for marriage for that long, should have broke it off ten years ago.
