Well like with nuts, if you're allergic to one you can gain allergies to others so they recommend you stop eating them all, I'm going to assume that op just stopped eating them all as the allergy is so bad.

I have a similar allergy myself. I'm actually allergic to most fruits. It's a big pain in the ass when family becomes inconsiderate to someone else's limitations in food. Ever since I got a job at 17, I feed myself, because at least I knew I wasn't going to try to hurt myself by eating my family's cooking or anyone else's that could be questionable. I wish you the best of luck and I am sorry your mom was being mean in regards to your allergies.
