Today, as I returned home, I noticed some movement inside my house. Thinking it was a break-in, I called 911. It was my friends and some coworkers trying to throw me a surprise birthday party. Nobody's said a word to me since. FML

Eh - Screw them if they can't realize the completely logical reaction you had to noticing suspicious movement within your own home. You made the right decision.

Did you forget it was your special day? Hope things get cleared up and things get back to normal...

13 - The fact that it was OP's birthday doesn't remove the possibility that it was a break-in.

OP's birthday could have been a different day all together, but the party was planned for a more convenient time for OP and the party guests. Like if OP's birthday was on a Wednesday but the party was on Friday night.

Technically they did break in... Cause you didnt let them in.. So unless they broke in....how else did they get in the house?

The keys of the friends, roommates or family OP lives with?

If the OP lived with other people I doubt movement in the house would have made them call the cops. That or they just had super understanding roommates until that one time they ruined the surprise party...

Why would they ignore you for that? You couldn't tell it was a bunch of friends and co-workers in your house, so you called 911. It's the responsible thing to do. They're pretty immature if they're avoiding you for doing that.

That's a little harsh for them to no longer be speaking to you cause you reasonably reacted to seeing someone in your house. Screw them.

Sounds like the surprise was on them... "Surprise!" "EVERYBODY GET ON THE GROUND WITH YOUR HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK!" "****"

In your defence, who essentially breaks into someones house to decorate for their surprise party? Especially if they're home?? Wouldn't it have been better to stage it at someone elses house and invite you over?

Ok I'm a bit confused. Did the cops show up and detain them and they're giving you the silent treatment 'cause they're angry? Or did they all run away in time and are hoping that by not talking about it you won't know it was them and they can preserve the surprise party for later?

They're all lucky the cops didn't start blasting away when they yelled SURPRISE !!!

They're made because you've undone The Perfect Crime. A criminal gang befriends the mark and even takes jobs at the mark's office, only to steal all his shit on his birthday. A perfect plan, until you went and messed it up!

They haven't said a word to you since because they're planning another surprise party......*sits quietly in the couch and waits for friends to yell surprise*
