Today, as I was washing the dishes, I felt what I thought was a mosquito on my leg. I kicked at it with my foot only to realize that I had just kicked my adopted puppy in the face. Now, whenever I come into a room, he runs to the corner and pees. FML

Today, I couldn't sleep. I had to pee really badly but I'm terrified of the dark, so I closed my eyes all the way to the bathroom. On the way, I tripped over my dog and fell face-first into the door frame. He then humped me as my nose bled all over the floor. FML

The dog is afraid of the OP and believes them to be aggressive and dangerous. The dog urinates to show submission (that's just how dogs work) in hope that the OP will cease seeing him as a threat and won't hurt him again. Getting angry and hitting him more is NOT going to help him learn to stop peeing in the house, #31. You are an idiot. Like someone who actually knows what they're talking about said, avoid direct eye contact, approach him from a low position, speak quietly, and ignore the peeing. Just remove the dog to another room calmly when he does it, and clean up the mess.

Just as a side note: hitting a dog and getting angry won't work no matter what the reason they're peeing in the house is. Chances are the dog will just associate going to the toilet in front of you with being hit, and will start being more sneaky about their business to avoid making you angry. Often by pissing behind the sofa, under beds, in the wardrobe etc. Anywhere you aren't.

All you "oh poor puppy" people need to calm down. That is definitely a FYL, not even close to a YDI. The hair brushed against this person's leg and he/she thought it was a mosquito and he/she accidentally kicked the dog. Key word: accident. And he/she probably feels bad.
