you could have said "no"
They need your permission to have students observe, and they're supposed to ask you if it's okay. I went in for my appointment and they tried to just slide the med student into the room (because I'm young and they assumed I would just go along with it), but I said I was uncomfortable with the student in the room, and she left. Always remember that just because your doctor has a degree that you don't doesn't make them "in charge". They have exactly as much power over you as you give them. They are a professional whose opinion is well informed, and whose medical input you can usually trust, but never take their word as gospel. And don't feel like you need to submit to things that make you uncomfortable before you ascertain the necessity of the situation.
you could have said no. they don't make you.
you know they ask you first if you want the trainees in there. you could have said no. ydi
You can easily say no. You are not required to let students train on you so stop complaining. ydi

Don't you have to agree to have nurses in training observe you? If not, they're all mature adults and -should- be professional about it.
You didn't have to agree to it if you were uncomfortable. No doctor has the right to force a patient against their will. All you had to do was politely refuse. End of story.
