Today, at a job interview, I was asked what I thought of twerking. It was a bizarre question, but trying to get on the interviewer's good side, I said I thought it was pretty cool. He snorted and said I'll be job-seeking for a while yet. FML

He was probably just afraid that you would start randomly twerking against walls... and doors... and windows... and water coolers... and people in the office. It can be a bit distracting.

That's when you should have said "I thought you said weekend working."

You shoulda said; "what's twerking?

Why would you think he wanted you to say you like it? It's a job interview. Unless it's for a strip club I doubt he wants you to be twerking.

And why should anyone assume that simply because you like something that it means you'll be doing it while at work? That's ridiculous logic. I like belly dancing, practiced it for a few years now. It doesn't mean that in the middle of my next review I'm going to start shaking my hips and shimmying all over. it's no ones business if you like a particular kind of dancing or not. So OP thinks twerking is "pretty cool". What the **** does that have to do with OP's work ethics? Probably nothing at all. OP can twerk all night, as long as they make it to work on time and are good at their job, it's none of the bosses business. It's like asking "do you like cats?" or "do you watch tv a lot?" those kinda of questions do NOT belong in interviews because it has nothing to do with OPs work ethic.

56 - nothing at all implies that it would be done at work. Anyway simply liking it is bad enough.

68- #35 said "unless it's for a strip club I doubt he wants you twerking" implying that OP would be twerking on the job simply because they like it. Which is just ridiculous. My main point is that the interviewer shouldn't have asked the question anyway. If the interviewer doesnt like twerking and thinks it's "the devil's dancing" or whatnot that's fine. It doesn't give him the right to disqualify someone for a job because of his personal opinion. That's called discrimination and is very illegal. You're not allowed to discriminate for arbitrary reasons like religion, race, gender, etc. Dancing preferences is also an arbitrary factor. It has no implication on a persons work ethic or their ability to get the job done properly. Therefore, that kind of question should not be asked.

YDI. Twerking is idiotic, and he was probably testing for common sense.

someone who prefers a certain style of dance is idiotic? oh, okay.

If you learn anything from fml, learn to be honest on interviews when these questions come out. To avoid pissing off the interviewer, say something like it is not for me. You didn't bash it if he likes it but at the same time you aren't committing to saying it is a good thing.

If you like twerking after Miley Cyrus then you definately deserve it.

So much wrong with this I have no idea where to start . . . But saying it was cool just to get on the interviewers good side is just wrong. YDI.
