Today, at dinner, I accidentally let it slip that I'd taken a small sip of alcohol a few years ago and hated it. My extremely strict parents are now trying to get me into rehab. FML

You need to take control of your life, get out of the house, go to parties with friends, have a drink or 5! Smoke some dope! These are your adolescent years, they probs the best in your life, dont let your loser parents take them away from you!!

Only adolescents think the adolescent years are the best of your life. NOT TRUE.

I think the best years are from the day you're born to the day you die. Now isn't that poetic.

I think the best days are the days not spent wasted (they call it that for a reason) to the point you do stupid shit you don't remember, feel like shit, and get sick as hell.

Nobody will listen to a unicorn. And haven't you seen the hangover.

speak for yourself. My teen years were awesome.

I just turned eighteen, and my adolescent years might have been irresponsibly fantastic, but I sure as hell hope that they weren't the height of my life. It would suck to think that I'm not even 20 yet and it's all downhill from now.... I'm counting on college, if anything, and early 20's being the height of my life. Still, I assume that you're saying that OP is young and therefore should not be afraid to experiment, and in that aspect, I very much agree.

My parents are Asian and their not as strict as your parents. Wow FYL!

They're* no rice for you young grasshopper!

Can't stand it when someone corrects someones comment! You can have my rice bitch!

84- you can have my "rice bitch" that I'll be receiving soon. Enjoy

So here's what I suggest you do. Go to the store and purchase some handlebars, return home and throw them at them, yelling "GET A GRIP". Perhaps then they might get a little perspective. Or very angry.

I like the use of a prop to drive the point home. Very outside the proverbial box.

"Small sip of alcohol a few years ago and hated it" really means "I am a frequent binge drinker and often wake up in strange men's beds." Your parents could spot obvious denial as soon as we all could. The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem.

they try to make me go to rehab but i said no no no!

why do you need rehab if you only drank once and a sip at that...

You should try getting them put in a mental institution.

Shocking! A small sip!? How did you hide that from them for so long? Well it's good they are they are there trying to help you in case you take another small sip at some point and become a raging alcaholic! Joking, your parents are blowing this way out of proportion.

Yeah, I feel like is she actually goes to rehab, they're just going to be like, "No. You're fine. Go home."

Now you're poppin' pills and shootin' heroine, correct?
