Judging from the kids' response I doubt your the first one to make that mistake.
Well, if you look at the kids' response, you are not the first one to make that mistake.
I was mistaken for a boy until I hit puberty, as my mother made me keep my hair short until I was old enough to care for it myself. People can be pretty blind, as I was taken for a boy while wearing a dress, and if you're mistaken for a boy enough, It can be pretty tramatizing. That being said, sometimes there's really not much people can do to tell them apart sometimes.

imagine being an 8 year old girl named sam who everybody thought was a boy...so she got her ears peirced. then everybody thought she was a gay boy. i am still proud of looking like a gay boy! I always thought it was funny tho...no fml on my part d: op: that always sucks when u mix up a kids gender... i juz make a joke outta it d:
