Today, at the eye doctor, they asked for my birth date for the files. My dad answered quickly, "May 28, 1994." It was embarrassing to have to correct him with "April 19, 1993." Who's May 28? Way to go dad. FML

aha family love... maybe it was your secret sibling they have yet to tell you...0_o

the point of this isn't that he forgot the OPs birthday, but that he may have another sibling unknown to him, leading to the possibility that the OPs father is living a double life

Seriously, it's not that big of a deal. It doesn't mean that he forgot your age. It's a year. I don't know how many times I've confused my own birthdate with my hubby, just as a slip. It happens. He could have a different date on his mind. Forgive him.

may 28th is two days after my birthday :)

I don't feel so left out anymore. :P My mom gets my birthday wrong all the time. I'm not sure if my dad knows my birthday, but rather the month; I moved away from home, so all he has to do now is mail a card sometime in February and he's safe. :)

Okay, once my father thought my birthday was September 10th, though it's the 20th, but to be fair, the 10th is HIS father's birthday. I think the occassional mishap is okay, but getting a COMPLETELY wrong day, of a COMPLETELY wrong month of a DIFFERENT YEAR, that isn't even explainable. I mean, how does one make that kind of mistake?
