Today, at work, a customer asked for my number. When I declined, he made a huge scene, shouting and scaring other customers. He tipped me seven cents. FML

Should have gave a fake number...

atleast he didnt stiff the bill, you got some sort of a tip, and you didnt give your number to what seems like a real ass hole.

His pick-up line was probably pretty lame. I've had a 98% success rate with this one: My love for you is like diarrhea; hard to hold in. If that doesn't get you the digits, you're hopeless.

Hey, you're seven cents richer than if he had given you no tip at all.

maybe the 7 cents meant something.. it is a lucky number after all

Poor random customers. Imagine... It's just a normal day. You go to buy some cereal. And out of nowhere some ************ comes and yells at you. "WHY? AM I NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR HER? TELL ME. WHY?" Clean-up on aisle 3. Biowaste department.

Well, just further proof you did the right thing by not giving out your number.

I'm a server and I think op did the right thing, that guy prob would have came back if she gave him a fake number.

Should have just gave him a fake number

Was the tip given before or after you declined him?

Same here, got a number from a regular's daughter, except they always tip well. I just am not interested and don't want to create an awkward situation
