Today, at work, a man bought a lot of really expensive stuff. He paid the large bill with cash, and the manager helped me count the money. When we were done, he handed me a $100 bill to thank me for all the help. We can't accept tips. The manager was next to me. I had to say no. FML

That. Sucks. Ass. I am so sorry. On the bright side, you're no worse off than you were before!

Ouch well if you would have taken it you would probably been fired which is a bigger loss then a 100 bucks right.

But, you can accept gifts. I work at a convenience stor/gas station. We have the same no tip policy, but there's nothing in there about monetary gifts.

America needs to take a lesson from Australia. YOU DONT DESERVE TIPS TO DO YOUR ******* JOB. You are already getting paid to do what you do, customers shouldn't have to tip you for you doing your job and handing over a burger. It's just another greed scheme.

Australia must have different minimum wage laws. Here in the US, servers are paid less than minimum wage because it's expected that the difference will be made up in tips. So many in the service industry rely on them and not tipping where expected is seen as rude.
