Today, cops showed up at my apartment demanding to look inside. Satisfied with the search, they told me they had received a noise complaint. More specifically, hearing screams someone believed a girl was getting raped. I had two friends over and we had been wrestling. The three of us are male. FML

Today, while I was cleaning, listening to music and sometimes singing along, I heard a knock on my front door. I turned off the music and opened the door to the police, who stated they had to investigate reports of "repeated female screams" coming from my apartment. I'm a 23 year old man. FML

Today, I heard screaming coming from my neighbor's house. Since her husband has a history of abusing her, I called the cops. After they left with him in custody, she called to yell at me because they were "working things out" after "having a few drinks". FML

Today, I awoke to the sound of my neighbors attacking my car with a baseball bat accusing me of calling the cops on them. I did call the cops on them, after they screamed at me last night, drunkenly, to call the cops for them because they thought they were being robbed. FML

i don't know whether to put this down as an FYL or a YDI... one would think you'd be considerate enough of your neighbors, or at least conscious of the trouble that screaming that loudly could cause, to not make that much noise while wrestling. on the other hand, one of you guys basically got called a little bitch, so that really sucks.

#9, would you rather let the cops into your house willingly, while being nice and cooperative so they are in and out fast OR piss them off, make them piss a judge off by getting a warrant, and then have them tear your house to shreds? I would rather just let them do their job, nice and painless for everyone.

well they can't just search your house for no reason... at least they didnt find anything. where i live if cops show up and ask to search they need a damn good reason why because everyone smokes weed and drinks underage and knows enough to not let them in for no reason. cops cannot legally walk into a house uninvited and unannounced and look for things
